2015 Red, White and Blue Golf Classic

$35,000 RAISED FOR LONE SURVIVOR FOUNDATION

Quick update on our 2nd annual Lone Survivor Foundation military veterans golf fundraiser held last Friday, October 2, 2015. This year, we had 40 teams participate and over 50 sponsors, donating over $100,000 in potential prizes. The event netted over $35,000, more than doubling last year and breaking our target of $25,000.

The Lone Survivor Foundation helps military veterans with physical or mental health issues adjust to civilian life. Their retreat was built at Crystal Beach last year and brings veterans and their families in for individual and group counseling. Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) affects many returning Veterans, who commit suicide at a rate of 22 per day, more than three times the national average. The Lone Survivor Foundation was established by local hero Marcus Luttrell, a Navy Seal caught in an ambush in Afghanistan which killed all of his team and all the members of a rescue helicopter. A movie by the same title starring Mark Wahlberg publicized the tragic incident.

2014 Red, White and Blue Golf Classic

Brent Coon and Associates Raises Over $15,000 for the Lone Survivor Foundation with Inaugural "Red, White & Blue Golf Classic"in 2014.

Brent Coon and Associates hosted the first inaugural "Red, White & Blue Golf Classic" on Oct. 4th, 2014 with proceeds going to benefit the Lone Survivor Foundation. The "Red, White & Blue Golf Classic" was sponsored by BCA, with the event being held at Brent Coon's Brentwood Entertainment Complex in Beaumont Texas. The BCA Beaumont Law Office worked tirelessly to round up teams, sponsors, prizes, donations, food and beverage and was a huge success. Attorney, Philip Kanayan, represented BCA's Houston Office and fielded a golf team as well.

The "Red, White & Blue Golf Classic" rose over $15,000 dollars for the Lone Survivor Foundation, which helps our military veterans cope with emotional and physical trauma sustained while in the service. After the event BCA founder Brent Coon stated "We did almost all of this work in house, and everyone involved should be proud of what we accomplished getting this annual event off the ground. Next year we will be much further along with preparations and organization, and we will target $25,000."

Helping our Armed Forces is a cause close to Brent Coon's heart, as his father was in the Army and Mr. Coon himself was born in Hanford Army Base in Washington. Brent has a number of family members which have been recently engage in military action in the Middle East.

Board members of the Lone Survivor Foundation team where in attendance at the "Red, White & Blue Golf Classic"event and were impressed with the efforts contributed by the BCA team. The vision of the Lone Survivor Foundation is to provide exceptional therapeutic, outdoor, and unique opportunities that optimize recovery and healing of affected American wounded service members and their families.

THE NEED
Overseas deployments and combat action can take a serious toll on everyone involved – from the men and women on the front lines to the friends and families who wait patiently for their loved ones to return home. Transitioning to post-military life, whether wounded in combat or simply adjusting to the civilian sector, will often cause difficulty for the service member and his or her family. We are here to help America's wounded service members and their families adjust to the effects of their experiences by providing an understanding and acceptance of who they are as a person, a family, and a community. - See more at: http://lonesurvivorfoundation.org/#sthash.lZlThVo4.dpuf

OUR PROGRAM

Our 5 - day retreats are designed to focus on serving America's wounded veterans along with their families as a unit. The retreats are hosted by experienced therapists with the incorporation of activities such as EGALA Equine Therapy, fishing and team - building exercises, and are free for the veteran and their family. The ranch setting provides ample opportunity for relaxation as it is the intent of the Lone Survivor Foundation to provide participants with a healthy environment to learn from others, expand the understand of each persons’ experiences and develop methods to move beyond negative impacts that may have resulted from deployments or service to America's Armed Forces.
